Duration and Structure:
14 weeks of two 1 hour sessions per week, equaling 28 one hour classes.
Required reading and attendance (absent students may access recordings and notes)
Daily reading, writing, and speaking practice sessions.
Weekly Homework Assignments; Bi-Weekly Exams; and Final Exam.
Summary of Course:
This is a beginners Arabic Language course, and will proceed from rudimentary Arabic alphabet and word structures to sentence structures and the basics of Arabic phonology, grammar, verb declination, and syntax.
Although many students may be able to read Arabic, especially the Majestic Quran, this course will be conducted on the premise that the student wants to become proficient in all the basic language skills of Arabic leading to fluency, including reading , writing, and speaking, and understanding the spoken and written word.
Charts, notes, and explanations will be used, along with reading, writing, and speaking practice sessions and homework assignments.
