Observations on Translation from Arabic to English

Two things have inspired me to write about some experiences and observations in translation from Arabic to English. One, my mistakes, and two, maybe some good translations. From among one. are whoppers I would rather forget, and hopefully, they were early on and I have learned from them. I hope to remember some common types of mistakes because we learn from mistakes, slips, and shortcomings if we are humble and seek to improve.  From among two are some praise I received first or second hand from people who said they or so and so liked your translations, or, after having reviewed many translators, I found yours of the best. Such encouragement as anyone knows are those high spots that help a person out of the low spots and discouragements. They may even be the highest pinnacle if they come from a renowned scholar and translator.
